As a Commercial Lines Insurance Account Manager, you will provide administrative support in obtaining, maintaining, expanding and servicing accounts and in maintaining excellent relationships between clients, customer service managers, producers and insurers.

Work Model & Benefits

Our business model includes work-from-home options (typically 2-3 days in the office) and continual training to stay on top of key changes in the insurance industry. Our training program is the foundation of every associate's success. Account Executives and the service teams share knowledge and tactics in working with carriers, learning the agency system, and providing exceptional client service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform all account transactions including applications, quotations, ID cards, proposals, summaries, endorsements, certificates, binders, billing, follow-up, and correspondence on assigned accounts.
  • Maintain all client files in the agency management system with full policy detail and use the system for all transactions, notes and diaries. Accuracy is critical.
  • Respond to client inquiries, incoming mail, company request, and risk management team member needs on a timely basis.
  • Collect renewal data on assigned accounts, visiting clients if necessary.
  • Review and order renewals according to agency procedures.
  • Survey policy coverages and identify cross-selling and upgrading opportunities.
  • Review, analyze, and submit applications to team members whether it be Presidio or insurance carriers.
  • Follow agency’s underwriting guidelines.
  • Adhere to agency’s policies and procedures.
  • Prepare quotations, coverage summaries/comparisons, proposals, and recommendations needed to insure clients/prospects understanding and adequacy of coverages.
  • Collaborate with Presidio Team Members, including the Claims Team if needed, in accord with Presidio’s best practices.
  • Ability to handle other assignments and duties as directed.
  • Contract and coverage analysis.
  • Ability to problem solve, as well as taking initiative as needed.
  • Find coverage solutions for clients, as directed or as needed.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Associates Degree or minimum 2-3 years relevant working experience required.
  • Illinois Property & Casualty license and/or Life and Health insurance license, preferred.
  • Preferred prior insurance experience as an Account Manager.

Technology Skills:

  • EPIC or similar agency management software experience, preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is required.

Other Qualifications:

  • Able to receive and apply instruction, as well as mentoring.
  • Ability and willingness to learn both direct job requirements and tasks, as well as have an interest in earning specific insurance industry certifications.
  • Able to work independently.
  • Ability to contribute to a collaborative environment through teamwork, high motivation, positive behavior, and effort to achieve goals and objectives
  • Takes initiative and is self-motivated.
  • The ability to multi-task, prioritize, work independently, and complete tasks within the time allotted for completion.

  • Good writing skills. Able to compose professional correspondence, whether emails or letters.
